Willow Community Assistance Hub & Pay It Forward Program In Gippsland Victoria

Willow House Community Support is a wonderful organisation dedicated to enhancing mental health and wellbeing in our community. Through a variety of initiatives such as therapy, art & craft sessions, respite, meditation and counselling, we strive to provide comprehensive support to those in need.

Willow Hub Community Assistance Program, featuring the Pay It Forward Program, plays a vital role in providing essential resources to families facing challenging circumstances. We are proud to offer a crisis food bank stocked with fresh produce, frozen meals, and canned goods. Additionally, we recognize the importance of supporting families with young children, so we also provide items such as children’s clothing (sizes 0-12), baby baths, strollers, change tables, nappies, hygiene products, linen, and more.

All of our services are made possible through the dedication of our volunteers and support workers, who contribute their time and effort to help our community thrive. Every donation—big or small—goes a long way in improving mental health and supporting our mission. Together, we can make a significant impact in the lives of those we serve.

Thank you for your support!

Willow House Community Support Pay It Forward Program

At Willow House Community Support Ltd., our mission is to inspire positive change and build a stronger, more connected community. Operating in the Gippsland Victoria areas. Our mental health retreat is available for short stays by referral. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive community services and support in mental health, suicide awareness and prevention, through our compassionate and empowering approach, we aim to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve, fostering a community that is inclusive, supportive, and resilient. Together, we strive to create a brighter future for all, one life at a time.” Help us improve the mental health of others. We recognise that the mental health system is not sufficient or considered broken and lacks the services required that enables us to combat the alarming numbers of people that are completing suicides throughout our country. Providing free mental health retreats and supports is a step in the right direction. We understand that although people are employed and earning an income this doesn’t necessarily mean that they can afford mental health services or retreats, therefore we will be inclusive with our eligibility.

We are a Not-for-Profit charitable organisation registered with the Australian charities commission (ACNC). We have DGR status with the ATO. Our organisation has placed a strong emphasis on addressing the complex issues surrounding mental health. Our mission is clear, we must act now and change the way our services are delivered to clients if we want to see national suicide rates and attempts reduced now and in the future. We value and recognise the importance of lived experience within our organisation, our staff have personally experienced loss from completed suicides and the devastating grief it brings. This demonstrates our ability to understand our clients, relate to their needs and provide support that we feel is inadequate in the current system.

Empathy and understanding goes a long way when working with our clients, their needs are valued and respected, our decisions are solely based on “how can we make a real impact”? We promote equal opportunity, we value the importance of diversity and inclusivity within our organisation and we wish to see continued positive growth and changes needed in our society that reflects everyone’s right to be treated with dignity and respect.

The Willow Tree

The Willow Tree, a symbol of spirituality and cultural traditions, is known for its flexibility and resilience. It encourages us to adapt to life’s challenges, surrendering to the process and understanding our subconscious. The tree’s resilience and resilience are powerful metaphors for expressing deep emotions, learning from love and loss, and embracing growth. Its trunk provides strength and stability, while its branches symbolize balance and harmony. The Willow Tree symbolizes hope, belonging, and the ability to let go of pain for growth.

Suicides completed in 2023

Suicide rates in Australia are increasing on a yearly basis, anxiety disorders and depression has become more prevalent in our communities.

One in five Australians experiences mental illness annually. In 2023, 2419 males and 795 females completed suicide, resulting in over 3000 deaths annually. Willow House Community Support Ltd. aims to change this by providing a mental health program and free retreat, with donations tax-deductible.

The Willow team have personally been affected by the suicide of a loved one, we understand the devasting impact it has on mental health and the life long journey

we all take as a result. Our mission is to contribute to better outcomes within the mental health sector and provide services that promote suicide prevention and awareness. We understand the complexities surrounding mental health, the stigmas still associated with mental health still need to be addressed within our communities if we want to see real changes and a reduction in suicide statistics.
